NUCLEAR FIT DOUBLes

Nuclear Fit Doubles is made up of a 1km trail run alternated with a functional fitness station repeated 6 times.

Next Race: Saturday 20th July 2024.

NUCLEAR FIT DOUBLES COMPETITION

Your 2 person doubles can consist of 2 male competitors, 2 female competitors or 1 male and 1 female competitor.  Both people complete the 1km run and then progress to the sequential functional fitness station where a combined individual effort is required.  There are 6 different stations to complete along with 6 x 1km runs.

DOUBLES RULES

You must run and complete each 1km lap together, you must pass the start and finish line together. Your race time will be the last chip from the doubles over the line, The doubles must enter and leave the workout station together, however at the workout stations the doubles split the workout as they see fit. The doubles decide how many reps and how far in distance each competitor completes, it’s up to you.  The weights, distances and reps format is listed below.

Here is an example:

Urn Hug 30kg

Person 1 starts the carry whilst  person 2 walks behind without obstructing any other competitors.  The double can swap out at any time.  Person 1 will pass the Urn anywhere on the course and person 2 continues the carry. At no time will two people be carrying the urn.  Now person 1 walks behind person 2 and this process is repeated until the distance is covered and you both cross the finish line.  You now must run 1km together.  Both competitors must share the workload, but not necessarily equally.

Age categories are determined by the competitor's age on the day of the race.  The age groups will be calculated on the average age of the two people taking part. eg Competitor 1 is 20 and competitor 2 is aged 44. The average is calculated by adding the two ages together and dividing by two which then decides the age group category. In this example it is 32 years, so the results will show in the age category 30-39 years.

  1. Run in trail trainers for their own safety and that of others.

  2. Be responsible for their own warm up and cool down.

  3. Follow all the rules and regulations.
